  • Country Club Liquors & Deli, weanus (guest) wrote 11 years ago:
Unfortunately, this business has new ownership. The deli has not maintained the same quality as it once had. The beverage selection is now fairly generic with all the regular brands on prominent display. The woman in the post office is now plain rude and complains about how much she hates her job while the help at the front counter is just plain rude. This place has lost its charm.

  • Amtrak Station, SDKoka wrote 17 years ago:
According to Amtrak officials, this is one of the ten busiest stations in the U.S., based on passenger numbers. Part of what makes it a challenging station is the fact that the San Joaquin trains - six per day - terminate at the station. Passengers continuing on their journey transfer to a VERY large number of connecting busses that take them to various points in Southern California. Visible in the picture is the bus staging area, designed specifically to have passengers step off the train and go directly to their bus.

What an eyesore for Bakersfield. Can't the property be condemned and auctioned off?
